Dear Parents,
The children are out of school for the summer and I hope you will have some time for family fun! Here at Blessed Sacrament, it is time to plan for our Sunday School Program for the coming school year. Included in this letter is important information regarding Sunday School.
Sunday School Classes begin on Sunday, September 18. Please register by August 1!
As usual the Family Mass is at 10:00 a.m. Class instruction follows from 10:45a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in the school. Enclosed is a registration form for your child and a schedule of classes.
PLEASE NOTE:
With the growing number of children in our program, classes filled up this past year. While I will make every effort to accommodate everyone (perhaps by adding a second class), I can only do that if you register early. Registration will take place until August 1. Late registration deadline for the first day of class is September 7 for unfilled classes.
Please completely fill out the registration form (both sides of the page). The emergency contact person should NOT BE THE CHILD’S PARENT. In the event of an emergency, this is the person we will call if the child’s parents cannot be reached. Please send (or bring) the completed form to the rectory office as soon as possible. Also, we need a copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate if you have not already given it to me. Additional registration forms are available at the rectory office.
Please Note the following:
- Catechists
- Substitute Catechists for each class
- Supervision Team (at school door and in the building)
All our Catechists and Assistants are volunteers with family and professional obligations. They generously give their time each week to teach and supervise your children. With our growing number of students we need your help. All who work with children follow a simple screening process according to the Archdiocesan guidelines and attend a training session here at our Parish. Please call me if you can volunteer.
This program could not continue to be a success without the many people who give their time and energy to provide instruction for your children and assistance in the program organization. I am thankful for the dedication of our Catechists and Assistants in carrying out this important work.
This year we say good-bye to our faithful Basic A Assistant, Nicole Fitzsimmons, who is going away to college. We wish her all the best in her studies and will miss her great and kind work with the students. We say good-bye to Elaine Gonzalez who is moving toFlorida. She has worked tirelessly on behalf of our Sunday School for over 10 years in so many ways including: supervising the front door of the school to insure the safety of our children, unlocking and locking the classrooms and the building before and after class, being a liaison between the School office and our Program, and handling so many other details. We will miss her constant presence and assistance, her generosity and kindness. We wish her and her family all the best.
I look forward to working with you and your children in the coming year. Enjoy the summer!
Many Blessings,
Tina Silvestro
